Richard S. Kenny, OD


Dr. Richard S. Kenny graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, and went on to receive a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Texas at Houston. In 1982, he earned a Doctorate in Optometry magna cum laude at the University of Houston College of Optometry.

Dr. Kenny is highly skilled in examining the eye for disease and abnormalities, and in fitting contact lenses. He is certified by the Washington State Board of Optometry to provide pharmaceutical treatment of eye disease. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Optometric Physicians of Washington, and the American Public Health Association.

He joined Binyon Optometrists in 1986 after having worked in several optometric practices in Washington State. Dr. Kenny has been the owner and operator of the Bellevue office since 1991. The practice was established in 1960, and moved to its current location in 1996.

Before he studied optometry, Dr. Kenny worked in ocular research at Baylor College of Medicine, and prior to that he worked as a chemist for Dow Chemical in Freeport, Texas.

Dr. Kenny is a member and Past President of the Greater Bellevue Lions Club. In his spare time he enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, snow skiing, and other outdoor activities.

Cheyenne and Pat schedule appointments, maintain medical records, and can answer many of your questions. They verify your insurance coverage, process your claim and receive payment. We are on most insurance plans, and we accept all major credit cards.

Sakina is a licensed optician. She assists in selecting a stylish frame to enhance your appearance, and helps you choose the most appropriate lenses for your particular needs. Sakina is also very skillful in polishing and modifying contact lenses, and instructing in the handling and care of contact lenses.
